DARIAN LOOKS FOR HIM AND DISCOVERS HE HAS A GRANDDAUGHTER.

CARTASSA

Darian now grown up, had graduated from the campus as a Scribe Magistrate and Lawyer like his brother Orlando, but unlike his brother he had preferred to leave by going down the Wosk river, he had stopped in the city of Falsworth, he had learned that Orlando had stayed there, there he met Sir Ming with his companion Lady Chiara, with her sister Betty, small in stature she was the Farmer, she spent her free time fishing on the pier, behind the palisade that served as a surrounding wall, with her Darian had a sincere friendship she already advanced in years, helped him in managing the city practices.

      Orlando's beauty did not go unnoticed by Lady Chiara, who often called him to help her with the household accounts, but he knew well that Ubar Sir Ming loved him, treated him like a son and would never do him wrong, his first job in that city was as Ambassador, and he often visited nearby cities to make trade and friendship agreements, in the meantime he practiced with maps, he had become good at drawing on parchments what he saw, the paths he took between the different cities, he never missed an opportunity wherever he went to ask for information about his missing brother, but everyone was very vague.

    One day in the port of Brundisium, talking to a merchant, he learned that Oralndo had seen him board a ship headed for Port Kar, but Darian knew that ships often stopped at Port Kar, to then head towards other destinations, he also learned that a free woman accompanied him, a dark-skinned slave, the free woman seemed from the width of her clothes to be expecting a child, Darian could not contain himself, when he returned to Falswort things worsened, Ming fell madly in love with a dark-skinned slave, one of those girls imported from the land to be sold in the markets of Gor, his companion Chiara did not want to share the man with her, and after many arguments he chased her from the palace and the city, Darian then discovered that Betty was one of Chiara's three sisters, they would both leave for the North, he took advantage of this opportunity to leave that city too, following the two women, the destination would be Jasmine, Darian would take advantage of it to look for Orlando in the North, where many said they had met him, it was known after the slave that Ming had freed and taken as a companion had become ill and after much suffering died, Ming could not bear that pain and one day no one saw him anymore in the city, it is said that he would have reached his tribe of men from the north arrived from Earth that they called Vikings, who lived in the far north of the planet Gor and no one ever returned from their land alive.

    When he arrived in Jasmine he learned that Lady BB Arliss and her companion Mith had left for the south in the Thahari desert where they had been called by Lady Safina for the construction of the new city ''Cartassa''. It had been a useless journey, he chased his family from one place to another, he wanted to see the old BB and his companion Mith who had adopted him together with Orlando, he remained a short time in that cold empty city where the young Neptune had recently become Ubar.

   Darian didn't think twice, he left again for the south in search of this city in the desert, they had told Jasmine that Orlando had passed with his companion and a little girl with them, so he was still alive and had had a daughter, a merchant who had traveled with him told him that the little girl was called Darla, perhaps the name recalled the name of his brother Darian, and one morning he left, he would have landed in Brundisium and from there he would have entered the great desert for that new city called Cartassa.

   After a month of travel and many adventures finally arrived in Cartassa, after many years he was able to meet lady BB and sir Mith, they were no longer young but on the other hand in that city in the desert lived some of her adopted children who had joined her to populate the new place, Darian met sir Bernhard the head of the Scribes caste, managing to get a job in the palace, as a Scribe waiting  for the construction of the courthouse, he would become a Magistrate, he also met the companion of the head of the caste lady Safina, and her aunt lady Mae the healer, he also met sir Umar Gongo the companion of lady Mae, but he still lived in the forest with his tribe of the Congo, he made friends with sir Finthor of the Warrior caste, nephew of Mae, and cousin of Safina, in the Scribes caste he met a beautiful woman named Jinny, Darian fell madly in love, but she secretly loved Finthor, who in turn loved a slave named YIYI, she was the slave of Lady Athena, also looking for a companion, Jinni discovered her suitor's affair with the slave, and both to get even and to make him jealous she agreed to marry Darian, he was very happy, but on the same day of the ceremony, Athena with her slave organized a trap for Darian, she had the clever slave YiYi found in the newlyweds' bed, and when they arrived home, Jinni furious chased Darian away, packed her things and left, leaving Cartassa.

    Lady BB confirmed to Darian that she had a niece named Darla, but that they had only glimpsed her on a departing ship, when she and her companion were getting off another, this made Darian happy, at least he knew that Orlando was alive, and that maybe one day he would finally meet him......
