THE STORY OF THE KAJIRA ROSE

The story of Rose is a story like many on the planet, we hear them told, the story of a young girl with many expectations and many dreams.

Rose was born in an anonymous village in the north, her parents had a farm, her father worked the fields and traded his products, while her mother looked after Rose, worked in the house and in the fields.

From an early age they taught her housework, then when she was around five years old, they took her with them to the fields to work full time, helping them with the work, teaching her everything she needed to know about farm work, looking after the animals, helping her father with sowing and harvesting, helping her mother in the kitchen and sewing clothes for the family.

Life went on, she didn't know the games of other girls, she had attended school, her mother taught her what she knew, while her father, always busy with his land and with trade, had never wanted any workers on his farm, he had always thought that the farm was the family, and therefore the family had to take care of it, but also because he didn't trust anyone, especially the workers.

As time passed, Rose grew up, took care of the house, cooked, sewed, and worked in the fields as well as caring for the animals. One day, when she was now a beautiful girl, her father brought home a merchant friend of his. He told Rose that she would follow that man, look after him and serve him, and give him children. She knew nothing of life outside the farm, and reluctantly obeyed her father, taking her few belongings and leaving with him on a ship headed south.

After disembarking at the port of Baku, they set out with a caravan towards a village on the edge of the Shendi forest. After a couple of days' journey, they were attacked by the Panthers, who killed all the men, including Rose's merchant owner, and captured the women, who were sold to their accomplices, slavers. It was a journey of torture and hardship. Rose slowly dragged herself along with the slavers, longing for her life on the farm. She remembered her mother's tears at her departure, while her father counted the Coopers she had received as her dowry.

One night while everyone was sleeping I ran away, I walked for days without food or water until I reached a port, I spoke with a commander, she would work in the kitchen and serve the men in exchange for passage to the North, and they landed her on an island in the Cos archipelago, she had neither food nor coins to live on, she wandered the docks, until a powerful man captured her and ordered her to follow him, from then on she became that man's slave, I took her to Port Kar first and then to Port Victoria, and it was there that I met her for the first time, she was very kind and obedient, then the city fell into ruins, her Master refused to sell her to me, they left together with other citizens who escaped the destruction, heading towards the city of Northern Light Bay, I found her there during a Kajire dance festival, but that same night they left for Tyros, and from then on I lost track of her.

Today I arrived at the rebuilt city of Turmus, I went straight to greet Sir Nicholas, my great friend, and there to my great amazement I met Rose again, she told me about her life, while now she is a guest of the Kennel, sometimes they rent her for a two Hand, but she is happy, she has a hot meal and clean tunics and the men of Turmus are not bad or savage and treat her well.
