A great reality unknown to many, the work of a great woman committed to spreading Gorean culture. I'm happy to have met her. In Gor, there are few who truly commit themselves to knowledge and dissemination. I met Lady Elisa in the city of Teletus. I had gone to meet Sir Abraham, but he had already left to take up another position in a new city. While I was in the garden in front of the INN, I saw her sitting reading. I greeted her, even though she was initially rather skeptical and even frightened by my presence. But after a long conversation, we became friends—an honor that makes me proud.
Below, I'll post some photos of the large bookstore, and a note she gave me to help people better understand her great work. Thanks to those who read and visit the bookstore. I'll also include the Landmark route to get there.
Welcome to The Library of Second Knowledge!
I've built this resource as a labor of love for our Gorean roleplaying community here in Second Life. What started as my own collection of research notes has grown into what I hope is a valuable library for anyone wanting to dive deeper into the world John Norman created. Everything here is sourced directly from the books themselves—you'll find quotes carefully documented with book title, edition, and page number, so you can verify anything you need or explore further on your own.
I've organized it all by subject matter to make finding what you need as easy as possible, from the practical (like what Goreans eat and drink) to the cultural (caste codes and customs) to the fascinating details that bring this world to life. In the lounge area, you'll also find a couple of bookcases where I've gathered out-of-character commentary and various discussions of Gorean philosophy for those interested in further exploration.
If you're looking for something specific that you don't see on the shelves, please don't hesitate to ask! I offer custom research support for anyone with questions about words, topics, or details not yet covered in the library. Just send me a notecard or IM, and I'll dig into the books to find what you're looking for. I listened intently, knowing that the girl could, even if of High Caste, understand little of what had happened to her. Those of the High Castes of Gor are permitted by the Priest-Kings only the Second Knowledge, and those of the lower castes are permitted only the more rudimentary First Knowledge. I had speculated that there would be a Third Knowledge, that reserved for Priest-Kings, and the girl's account seemed to justify this conjecture.
