A LONG JOURNEY IN THE REGION OF THE PANI CIVILIZATION, VISITING SOME VILLAGES 

NARA ISLAND

     

I was eagerly waiting to leave for the North 

. on the route of the Pani villages (descendants of the Japanese people on Planet Earth).

CITY OF DAPHNA

 Lady Sabayna had sent me the travel program, I had published it, but in the end I set out alone, first passing through the village of Hammersgaard, where I met Lady Tania, who was busy preparing security in the village, because the snow is already covering everything and everything needs to be protected until spring.

 Then I went into the archipelago that includes the Pani Islands, first Kamura Island, then Nara Island and finally Daphna Island. I also wanted to visit the city of Selnar but the weather conditions were adverse. I will do so soon.

 I met my friend Aiko for many years, she showed me the beauties of the beautiful city of Kamura, and told me about their customs and traditions, I will post some photos to represent the Pani cities, I hope you will enjoy getting to know a world made up of kind people and beautiful women in their costumes, I had already told you years ago about a Pani village where I was hosted with kindness, and with all the honors, a peaceful people who trade with the Planet, but when needed they are also great warriors.

VILLAGE OF LARA NOTICE

 Greetings,  Let me introduce myself.  I am Magnus Baine, new City Administrator of The City of Lara.  I am sending this scroll to you as an invitation to the City of Lara Trade Fair which will be held from December 19th- December 21st. Lara will provide booths for each city who decides to send representatives of the merchants to the fair.  Each city will be allowed 20 prims to show off their goods.  

Please feel free to visit Lara at any time beginning now to select your preferred market booth; we have several colors to choose from and all are located in the park at the Lara main gate. 

There will be entertainment daily and seminars on our new campus.  The week will  conclude with an OOC Holiday Ball that all are invited to attend.

GREAT CHARACTERS OF GOR 

             LADY DARA

Story of Lady Dara in Italian for my Uncle Darian 

Ink stained Lady Dara's fingertips, a perpetual sign of her calling. In the silent sanctuary of the scerva, surrounded by scrolls stacked like ancient bones and the scent of aged parchment, Lady Dara was a sentinel of memory.

Her black hair, visible only in the smooth wave from her forehead to beneath her blue veil, framed startlingly blue eyes that peered intently at the delicate script. Her face, a mystery to most, remained hidden behind the intricate folds of her veil, a customary shield for women of her caste, but for Dara it was also a shield for her thoughts and expressive features, which, if exposed, could attract unwanted attention. She was no mere copyist. As a skilled scribe, she held the pulse of the city in her careful hand, transcribing the births of new citizens, the sad tally of the dead, the complex decrees of the Sardar, the fluctuations in the prices of grain and slaves at the market, and the grand declarations of war and peace.

Her southern accent, a soft lilt that sometimes escaped her lips when she dictated to a young scribe, marked her as a woman of high lineage, originally from the Southern Cities of Gor. Her lineage resonated in the quiet authority of her posture, in the graceful gesture of her hand over the parchment. Being a high-caste Freewoman earned her a certain respect, despite her highly unconventional lifestyle.

Lady Dara was single again, hers a path shaped by choice and circumstance. Her son, Poseidon, a lively boy with his mother's dark hair and a spirit as indomitable as the sea, was the fruit of a previous free companionship. His father, himself a scholar, had departed, the contract dissolved, leaving Dara with the precious gift of a son to raise alone.

Sometimes, as the afternoon sun slanted through the tall, narrow windows, illuminating sparks of dust that danced in the air, Dara would pause, pen poised, contemplating her future. She recorded the lives of others, meticulously archiving their destinies, but her own life was a tapestry woven from threads of independence and tradition. She was a woman of intellect in a city that valued female obedience, a mother without a partner, in a society that defined women by their men. Her veils, while masking her spirit, also granted her a unique form of anonymity, granting her a certain freedom in her work that few women enjoyed. She was the custodian of Gor's history, its secrets, its very identity, and in that knowledge, hidden behind the veils, lay her silent and formidable power...

PRINCESS NANI

return to hammersgaard

 After so much traveling, I felt very tired lately, with so many fairs around the planet, and so many villages and cities visited, I wanted to rest and have a moment to myself to decide about the future and what I really wanted, the newspaper gives me a lot of work, and in the city of AR's where I live lately there is not much to do and the Scribes are not lacking.

  I had recently visited the Viking village of Vigra , after having interviewed Sir Dagur the High Jarl of Vigra , I decided to return to the south, and we set off, but after a few days the weather conditions worsened, becoming more and more dangerous for navigation, in agreement with the Captain we decided to reach land and descend along those mountains, we were very close to my house in Hammersgaard , we would disembark in the village waiting for better conditions to continue the navigation.

      It had been a long time since I saw the beautiful Nani, the Viking princess who became Taluna after her separation from Sir Erik. I was looking forward to meeting her and taking care of the paperwork pending in my village office.

 (I remember when I first arrived in that village, after leaving my adoptive mother lady BB, in the village of Finnur, we stopped to buy some food, to stay until spring, 

the snow now covered everything and the sea was frozen, the ice made navigation dangerous, in the Tavern on the port I met Sir Erik the manager, and with him the beautiful Nani who worked in the tavern, she was secretly in love with Erik, hiding her nature as a Taluna, only to me did she tell her story.

   Until one day Erk and Nanisi got married, with their Viking rite, I was there and I witnessed the event, it was something sudden but they knew that soon they would become 

parents of their child, meanwhile time passed, I had a small office where I carried out the work of Scribe, and I gave advice on the laws to their Jarl, spring arrived, the birth of the child was almost upon us, Nani and Erik begged me to stay until he was born, but secretly Erik often saw himself with a slave who became his lover, who in the end ran away with her.

 

 

After the birth, I attended the baby's baptism ceremony, a beautiful ceremony held in a small lake above the clearing. In their ritual, they immersed the baby in the icy water of that lake. Then everything was over and I decided to leave for the south. I hadn't seen the Oasis and my people for a long time.

   We landed at the village, which to my great surprise had been rebuilt much larger, now had a large palace on the hill, while my house was still on the plain after the port across the river. I finally met Nani, with her was the beautiful Tania the Tegina, they were waiting for Erik who didn't arrive, instead their Jarl, always very busy, arrived. I greeted everyone and returned to the great Hall on the hill, I witnessed the preparation of the temple for a ceremony that would take place shortly, night fell, now tired I went down to my wooden house, the fireplace was already lit, the bed I knew well with blankets of Borsk and tarsk skins, a slave was waiting for me for the night, I sent her back and dead tired I fell asleep, happy to have seen my Viking friends again in the village of Hammersgaard.

Messengers ride on Kaiila and fly with Tarns to all cities on Gor and attach a message to the message boards:

The Southern Trade Alliance has commissioned the construction of a ship capable of sailing to the distant Pani Islands. We will have to cross the Thassa Ocean with it. There are enough hammocks and space for many.

The ship, the "Lysander," is already anchored off the port of Selnar - Imperial Cos. Those arriving by land should ask the citizens of Selnar about a ferry or a rowboat.

We will stay in Selnar for a few days to buy food and other things we will need.

- In five days [Friday, November 5th, around 1 pm] we will weigh anchor and set sail!

- We will stay on the ocean for some time (the roleplay will take place on a skybox, Oasis of Lame Kaiila, entrance arrival tent, walk THROUGH the Pani Expedition sign)

- We expect to arrive in Nara, Pani Islands [on December 9th].

HISTORY: Dagur, High Jarl of Vigra:

My origin lays in Nubia (it lies along the east and west banks of the Nile River near the modern-day border of southern Egypt and northern Sudan). During one of their invasions the Arabs captured and enslaved me when I was just six years old. So I grew up as their slave for almost 12 years and traveled with their caravans all over North Africa. Lions had to watch over me and the other slaves. One of the cubs, Exal, grew up with me and during the years we became good friends.

In that time the Vikings sailed to the Mediterraneans and founded some settlements in North Africa and traded with Arabs but had to defend their settlements also now and then. During one of the clashes between Vikings and Arabs the Vikings liberated me and Exal came after me to stay with me. After that I was helping the Vikings with translation etc. They accepted me more and more and learned me how to fight and defend myself. When the Vikings left North Africa I traveled with them along Constantinople through Russia back to Scandinavia. In Russia we had many clashes with the Rus and I fought well, even saved the lives of some Vikings. One of them, Erik, became a kind of father for me and I went with him to Gotland (Sweden). There I met his lovely daughter, Katia. I felt in love with her from the first moment and after hard working, showing my genuine interest and pampering her a lot she fell in love with me too and we got married. During one of our trading trips to the coast of Norway we arrived in a lovely settlement called Ulfheim. It was very peace- and respectful. We decided to stay there for a while. After a few winters we moved on with some other Ulfheim settlers and arrived in Vigra. An amazing village. Because of Katia's love for horses we took here our residence as horse traders. Vigra is amazing but also a young village. Because of the successful trading with other neighboring villages, Vigra became prosperous and ties with those countries grew stronger and stronger. One of those countries is Skaertonnfjall with a queen, Nanna, whom we had met before on one of our trading trips from Ulfheim but had lost sight of. Nanna, a beautiful woman and of splendid character, with a daughter, Rac, of dazzling beauty. Katia and I were well liked in Vigra and with our horse trade we contributed significantly to Vigra's prosperity. My role and duties within the community of Vigra became more important and more significant, requiring Katia to go alone on distant trading trips. Through my frequent contact with Skaertonnfjall, Rac caught my eye. A young woman with a will of her own, very smart and incredibly beautiful. Although I still love Katia very much I cannot ignore the fact that Rac's beauty and character also attract me very much. So I court Rac when I am in Skaertonnfjall and to my surprise she appreciates it and answers more and more of my advances. We get closer and closer and we express love for each other. (By the seventh century, Nubia expanded and became the dominant power in the region. It was strong enough to halt the southern expansion of Islam after the Arabs had taken Egypt. After several failed invasions the new Muslim rulers agreed to a treaty to allow peaceful coexistence and trade, contingent on the Nubians making an annual payment consisting of slaves and other tributes to the Islamic Governor at Aswan; it guaranteed that any runaway slaves were returned to Nubia. The treaty was kept for six hundred years. Throughout this period, Nubia's main exports were dates and slaves, though ivory and gold were also exchanged for Egyptian ceramics, textiles, and glass. Over time the influx of Arab traders introduced Islam to Nubia and it gradually supplanted Christianity).
