 JOURNEY INTO THE BLACK FOREST

Kim's Wedding

It wasn't easy to reach that secretly hidden place in the Sardar Forest. I left Var-Kor with my ship and sailed up the Wosk River to its tributary, the Olni River, then the Tenthis River. Finally, on foot with a small caravan, I entered the Sardar path, the one pilgrims usually use to reach the Pilgrimage Sanctuary.

Lady Kim's message made it clear that I had to keep the location of their kingdom a secret. They were descended from the Germans of planet Earth and had built their domain hidden in the forest before the Sardar Mountains, a place inaccessible to all. But thanks to precise directions, I managed to reach the city of Immel.

We camped nearby and with two trusted men I went to the gate of that castle city. The guards, after carefully reading my credentials and registering my invitation, told me that Sir Max's wedding to Lady Kim had already begun and that all the citizens were in the church in the square in the center of the city outside the walls of the small castle, typical of the Normans of Planet Earth. I asked a guard to accompany me to the ceremony, and finally I entered the church,

 and to my great amazement I saw that the master of ceremonies was none other than Sir Tariq. I remember that we had studied together at university, but then he had taken the ecclesiastical path, becoming an Initiate. We had met in many cities, and today I find him here, while he was celebrating the wedding of Sir Maz and Lady Kim. The church was packed with people dressed in flamboyant period costumes, beautiful ladies and great men.

There were no seats, so I stood aside near the gate so I could watch and observe everyone. Finally, we moved to the large square in front of the castle for the cake cutting. Finally, we all marched in procession to the large hall where refreshments and dancing had taken place.

By now, time was up; my men were waiting outside the walls, so I bid everyone farewell, wishing them all the best, and left that city called Immeldingen.
